Bio:

  • We are into the light carol anne.
  • we are just a band.
    • here are some things we like:
    • music
    • beer
    • here are some things we dislike:
    • "band bios that are written by the band that are in the third person," quipped 1112467
    • pretentious statements of grandeur by mediocre bands; not like us who are awesome in every way
    • We formed as a band and started working on the songs that our set currently consists of in mid 2006.
    • We are actual people who come from a lot of different places. And used to or still do play in many bands some of which you may have even heard of.
    • We are often asked about the numbers and will offer up various stories about their origin and purpose, one of these stories is true, the rest are dubious at best.
    • We actually do love each and every one of you

We are getting our heads together

Hey everyone,

seems like it has been forever, it may well be... hard to tell.  But things are finally getting back underway for us.

First, I'd like to personally thank everyone who took a moment to offer words of encouragement, kindness and sympathy to me during what was a terrible time. While I am not nor ever will likely be the same i appreciate it and still have music I want to create and share.

OK enough of the sadness...

We have had two rehearsals now with what is looking to be a solid line up.  we have a brand new song underway and more in the wings once this one is in decent shape.  I listened to the last recording and was half tempted to post it for listening that is how pleased I am with the progress from just two run troughs with the current line up.  I think we will wait a bit though but once we have a decent stab at it down i will share.

the new line up comes with drastic changes in instrumentation and sound.  I have moved from Bass Guitar to Bajo Sexto which is a fantastic instrument, our Guitar is now acoustic as well and of course the Fiddle remains.  The songs are still frenetic and are most decidedly Into the Light Carol Anne material but they offer us a new dimension.

we are currently working on a song entitled "Teaching the Android to Feel Was A Terrible Idea: Now All He Does Is Cry"   and the focus of it on a musical standpoint is in exploring the full range of dynamics that acoustic instrumentation gives us.  I can see this one being a challenge to convey in a live setting but I am loving the way it is sounding... getting our quiet even more quiet is very exciting new ground for us.

At any rate we look forward to sharing more music with you all soon, and would like to welcome our new Drummer officially, he's been a great addition already and we are very excited to have his creative efforts behind ITLCA

see you soon

Rough Times

Hey Everyone,

you know me as 1112467, I am more or less the guy who gets ITLCA together, writing and creating music to share with you all.  It is something that I love to do and have no intention of stopping while there is breath in me.  This means, however, that when life is not so hot things tend to slip a little by the wayside. This is, i fear, one of those times.

Currently I am struggling with a lot of stress due to an illness in my family.  Cancer to be precise.  It's not fun should any of you be wondering.  My father has been my hero for most of my life and this has not been easy to deal with for any of us but particularly hard for me.  With this being the case the energy to get the band together to write and practice just isn't there.

I want to thank you all for your patience and I am sure support during this difficult time.  When my father ninja kicks the cancer in the balls and comes out the other side of this I will undoubtedly have a vast storehouse of music that needs to be unloaded and I look forward to sharing that with you all.

Thanks for listening and being part of our Family

Looking for A Drummer

So what’s the story with you guys then?

Our official press release that Nowhere records put together for us intimates that we go through a lot of line-up changes… this is not exactly true nor is it exactly false.

And it’s time for that to be true again. We have had some shuffling thanks to life in general and 1100077X is not able to dedicate the time needed to drum for us and will, instead be filling in the keys/Spackle role. And 1154836 has decided it is time to focus on one of his other musical endeavor, which is awesome by our standards.

But you guys need a guitar player as well as a drummer then?

Well no. Guitar is currently being tentatively filled in by a new player we are calling 5 for now. As we work we will decide if this makes sense for us going forward (which early indicators are positive on) and extend that Digit to the requisite 7 digit number.

So just a drummer?

Yes. just a drummer… but a creative and capable drummer. this drummer has to, in fact, rock. You have heard our music right? well it takes a drummer that is capable of thinking about music more than it takes one that can simply lay a beat down. we could get a drum machine if all we needed was a drummer. Our songs are actually very organic in nature and you (oh dear future drummer) need to be capable of bringing that to the table as well.

So no new album then?

Not until we have a drummer at the very least no. But we do have new songs that we are working diligently on. some of which you may have heard in our live shows of Last year. The ‘t’ suite is coming along very nicely!

Ok but what should I do now?

Do you play drums? if so you should email us and be prepared to work hard at creating some awesome music. If you don’t… well we still love you (ITLCA is a band about love after all) but all you can do right now is, we fear, wait… and Listen to Symphony for Dolphin and Duck of course!
